Dry ice production solutions

Dry ice production requires storage tanks or pipelines connected to liquid carbon dioxide to provide feedstock. Liquid carbon dioxide is compressed by a compressor or pump to bring it to the required high pressure. The compression process compresses carbon dioxide gas into high-pressure liquid carbon dioxide. The high-pressure liquid carbon dioxide then passes through a cooler, or condenser, whose purpose is to lower its temperature below the freezing point of dry ice (about minus 78.5 degrees Celsius or minus 109.3 degrees Fahrenheit). As it cools, the liquid carbon dioxide gradually loses heat and begins to transform into solid dry ice.

OLLITAL specializes in the R&D, production, sales and service of dry ice blasting, dry ice production, dry ice transportation and other one-stop service-related supporting equipment. Our efficient, environmentally friendly, safe and flexible cleaning equipment has won a good reputation in the industry and has been sold to many countries around the world. As labor management costs and land costs continue to increase, automated equipment will inevitably replace semi-automatic or manual production in the future.

Advantages of dry ice pellets

Advantages of dry ice pellets

Extremely low temperature

Dry ice has a very low temperature of about minus 78.5 degrees Celsius, making it a very effective refrigerant and cryogen

No residue

Dry ice transforms directly into gas when the temperature rises, leaving no residue behind, which makes it very popular in food transportation and pharmaceutical fields

Non-conductive

Dry ice is non-conductive and therefore safe to use when handling electronic equipment and electrical components

Environmental protection

Because dry ice is a natural substance composed of carbon dioxide, it completely evaporates after use and will not cause pollution to the environment

Efficiency

Dry ice cools or freezes objects quickly, making it useful for applications that require the cooling process to be completed quickly

Easy to obtain

Dry ice is relatively easy to obtain and can usually be purchased at food stores, chemical suppliers, or online stores

Versatility

Dry ice can not only be used as a refrigerant, but can also be used in some special applications such as dry ice cleaning, special smoke effects, etc

Safety

Dry ice is relatively safe when used correctly. However, care needs to be taken to avoid direct contact with skin, as extremely low temperatures can cause frostbite

Dry Ice Production Demonstration Guide

Dry Ice Production Demonstration Guide

1.Safety Awareness: Always wear insulating gloves and goggles when handling dry ice to prevent skin contact and eye injuries. When using dry ice in a confined space, ensure adequate ventilation to prevent excessive carbon dioxide concentrations.

2.Storage and Handling: Store dry ice in a well-ventilated area away from children and pets.
Use tools such as gloves and shovels instead of touching dry ice directly with your hands.

3.Transportation: When transporting dry ice, use well-ventilated containers and make sure the container is not completely sealed to prevent increased air pressure that could cause the container to explode.

4.Cleaning and Handling: After using dry ice, ensure adequate ventilation so that carbon dioxide gas can be released safely. After blasting with dry ice, remove remaining debris thoroughly to prevent accidental slips or falls.

5.Precautions for use: Avoid direct contact with dry ice on the skin to prevent frostbite.
Do not store dry ice in closed containers as the release of carbon dioxide gas may increase the pressure within the container, causing an explosion. Do not put dry ice into glass containers as the temperature difference could cause the glass to burst.

6.Disposal of waste: Dry ice evaporates completely after use, leaving no residue. However, discarded dry ice containers should be disposed of properly to prevent environmental contamination.
